John was born on October 15, 1962 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He lived there for the first seven years of his life. It was in Salt Lake that John was introduced to the Catholic religion. The Rodrigues family was faithful to their religion and every Sunday morning you could find them in the eleven o'clock mass. John's mother always had an alter in every house they lived in.

In the third grade John was living in Laramie, Wyoming. While in Laramie John believes that God called him as a preacher. He was in the middle of mass when God put on his heart these words, "John, there is something special I want you to do for Me in your life." From that time John wanted to be an alter boy and priest. He tried his best to be good, but he discovered he could not. He gave up and became rebellious and turned to a life of sin. John's life became empty and lonely, a life without love or the expression of love.

While living in Sacramento, California as a teenager, John was very angry and lonely; he wanted to be loved so bad and accepted that he turned to the occult; it was here that he began to see changes in his life. He began to gain friends and money by using occult methods, but soon the time came when Satan was through with him. John began to have nightmares and became fearful. John was now in the clutches of Satan without hope of a way out; it was a time of darkness that filled his life. One night John went out into a field by his house and fell to his knees, he looked up into the heavens and cried out, "God, if you are really there bring something into my family's life that will change it!" Three days later that prayer was answered!

John's family met Millie Brown and she told them how Jesus died for them. She quoted Ephesians 2:8-9 and said that heaven was a free gift. John said his heart was filled with joy because they were the sweetest words he ever heard. With tears streaming down his face, he kneeled with his brothers and sisters; they all accepted Jesus as their savior that day. The first words out of John's mouth were "Praise the Lord!" John then said, “I never heard those words before”; yet ,they were proclaimed that day from his own lips. John also said he felt a warm feeling like warm water being poured over him and he felt brand new! John told Millie that he wanted to climb the highest mountain and tell everyone the goods news; that's why he loves to tell others that Jesus Loves and died for them.

It was April 12, 1977 when he was set free from the clutches of Satan and brought out of darkness into God's marvelous light!
